This course teaches the basic functions and features of Access 2003. Students will learn how to plan and create a database, work with tables, create queries and forms, filter records, and generate reports.

Outline

Unit 1 – Getting Started.  This unit covers database concepts, exploring the Access environment, getting help, and closing a database and Access.

Unit 2 – Databases and Tables.  This unit covers planning and designing databases, exploring tables, and creating tables.

Unit 3 – Fields and Records.  This unit covers changing the design of a table, finding and editing records, and organizing records.

Unit 4 – Data Entry Rules.  This unit covers setting field properties, working with input masks, setting validation rules, and using indices.

Unit 5 - Simple Queries.  This unit covers creating and using queries, modifying query results and queries, and performing operations in queries.

Unit 6 - Using Forms.  This unit covers creating forms; using the Form Wizard; using Design View; and finding, sorting, and filtering records.

Unit 7 - Working with Reports.  This unit covers creating reports and modifying and printing reports.
